Americare Launches Staten Island Office, Provides Free Skills Training for Prospective Home Health Aides

New Location Will Help Meet Growing Demand for Skilled, Dedicated Workers In a Booming Industry With Significant Growth & Career Advancement Opportunities

Staten Island, NY – Americare, one of New York’s largest healthcare organizations and a state and national leader in quality home healthcare, celebrated the grand opening of its inaugural Staten Island office today. They kicked off a new free training program for workers interested in a career as a home health aide.

Americare’s Staten Island training program is one of seven now underway, with additional classes offered in Manhattan’s Chinatown neighborhood, as well as at several locations in Queens, the Bronx, and Brooklyn. All prospective home health aides who complete Americare’s training programs are guaranteed a case placement and employment with competitive salary and benefits packages, signing bonuses, ample career advancement opportunities, and more.

“We are both proud and excited about our newest location on Staten Island and look forward to working with many talented New Yorkers as they embark on fulfilling careers in our growing industry,” said Elly Kleinman, president, CEO, and founder of The Americare Companies. “The high demand for skilled, compassionate home health aides shows no signs of slowing. Those who enter this field are almost guaranteed a long and successful career, and we want to ensure that Staten Island residents have access to both the training and care they need and deserve.”

Americare provides patients with high-quality and personalized in-home care through its top-tier training programs. Positions for those who complete these programs can range from 24/7 care to hourly cases. Students learn everything from how to address patient health issues to cultural sensitivity comprehensively and have access after graduation to continuing education opportunities, mentorship, and additional professional support.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of openings for home health and personal care aides will increase by nearly 37% by 2028. As demand rises, many vulnerable New Yorkers who need assistance are finding it difficult to secure high-quality, reliable care. Americare is filling a significant need by providing a pathway for New Yorkers to pursue a fulfilling and rewarding career while addressing an acute shortage of life-saving care.

All of Americare’s referral positions are union-protected and include a compensation package equal to $19.09 and 21 days off annually. The company offers a $500 sign-on bonus, as well as a $500 referral bonus. Home health aides receive free medical insurance, as well as a 401K plan with a company match.

The new Staten Island office is located at 520 Bay St., 2nd Floor. To apply for the program, workers can email [email protected] or call (718)434-5100. For more information about Americare’s services and employment opportunities, visit https://www.americareny.com/.
